What is the Heineken Experience?

It is a self-guided brand tour with a beer at the end. The ticket listing says it is in the place where the beer was first brewed.

The address is Stadhouderskade 78. You need a ticket for a date, and you must be 18 or older.

Heineken brewery tours in Amsterdam: what this one is

Think of it as a museum of the brand, not a working factory tour. The listings do not say that beer is still brewed here.

You learn the brewing story, ride a ride and pour a beer.

What you see and taste on the Heineken Experience tour

You follow the brewing story, ride the Brew U ride, learn to pour a draft and drink a beer.

The Brew U ride shows you what it is like to be brewed and bottled, says the listing. Live presentations are in English, and the audio guide covers seven languages.

With the rooftop option, you also get the rooftop bar and a second beer.

Heineken Experience tickets in Amsterdam: self-guided, guided, VIP or rooftop

Most people only need the €24.95 self-guided ticket.

The official booking page lists these prices. The guided tour has limited spots. The VIP tour adds a 5-beer tasting. The Tour + Rooftop ticket takes 2 hours and includes 2 drinks.

A rooftop-only ticket costs €15. It gets you the bar, not the tour.

Pay for the guided tour only if you want a person to ask questions. Otherwise the presentations and audio guide cover it.

Combo tickets: hop-on hop-off bus and canal cruise

Only one combo here includes entry: the bus ticket with fast-track Heineken entry. It is non-refundable.

The Heineken Experience is stop 7 on the City Sightseeing bus route. Your Heineken time slot is fixed when you book.

The official site also lists combos with a canal cruise and with the Johan Cruijff Arena. It shows two prices for each, so check the total there. Moco Museum’s own shop sells a Moco and Heineken combo for €40, for ages 18 and up.

The Heineken boat tour: a beer cruise, not an entry ticket

The beer cruise is a one-hour canal trip with a live guide and one beer. It does not get you into the Experience.

Opening hours, age limit and the best time to go

It is open every day from 10:30 a.m., and nobody under 18 gets in.

The age rule is strict. Minors are not allowed in even with an adult, and there is no child ticket.

The official site lists other last-entry times on some days, so check the date picker. It publishes no quiet times. On Fridays and Saturdays it stays open until 9 p.m.

Is the Heineken Experience worth it?

In our view, yes, if you like beer and brand stories. For €24.95 you get a ride, a pouring lesson and a beer.

Skip it if anyone in your group is under 18. Skip it too if you want to see a working brewery: the listings do not promise one.

Tips for the Heineken Experience

  1. Bring ID

Everyone must be 18 or older, and the listing asks you to bring a passport or ID card.

  2. Bring headphones and a charged phone

The official ticket’s listing asks for both, for the audio guide.

  3. Mind your time slot

On the bus combo, your booked slot is your entry time. Be there 15 minutes early. The combo cannot be refunded.

  4. Rooftop is not the tour

The €15 rooftop ticket does not include the Experience. The beer cruise does not either.

  5. Cancel the others for free

The official ticket, the rooftop ticket and the beer cruise cancel free up to 24 hours before.
