Ticket or tour?

For most people, the ticket is enough. Every ticket comes with a multimedia tour in many languages. There is a family tour too.

A guide adds the story behind the art. Pick a guide if you love art history or have lots of questions.

Rembrandt in Amsterdam: tickets with a tour

Only one listing has a live guide inside the house: the 2-hour tour with an art historian.

The private walk from Nieuwmarkt ends at the house, but check that the entry ticket is in the price. The brunch ticket has entry, but the walk is on your phone. The 1-hour express walk stays outdoors.

Tips for the Rembrandt House Museum

  1. Book a start time

The museum says a ticket with a start time, bought online, is the way to be sure you get in.

  2. Go late in the day

On the museum’s own site, the adult ticket is €4 cheaper from 16:00 to 18:00.

  3. Pass holders book too

With a Museumkaart, student card or CJP card, the museum still asks you to book a time slot.

  4. Check access first

The ticket listing says the house does not suit wheelchair users or people with mobility impairments.

  5. Bring teens

Tickets for ages 6 to 17 cost €8, which makes it one of the easier things to do in Amsterdam with teens.
