The museum's interactive audio tour comes in twelve languages. You book it together with your ticket.

Is The Bedroom in the museum?

Yes. The museum lists The Bedroom (1888) among the masterpieces always on view in its permanent collection.

Sunflowers, Almond Blossom and The Potato Eaters are on that list too.

Two picks that are not the museum

The immersive show is a 40-minute projection show in the Noorderkerk church, not in the museum.

The private art walk is a 2-hour tour outdoors. It does not go into any museum.

Where it is: Museumplein, Amsterdam

The Van Gogh Museum is at Museumplein 6, in Amsterdam.

From Centraal Station, tram 2 takes about 17 minutes to the Museumplein stop. GVB calls it a scenic route: it passes the canals, the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum.

Booking tips for the Van Gogh Museum

  1. Go early or late

The ticket listing says 11:00 to 15:00 is the busiest time. Book a slot between 9:00 and 11:00, or after 15:00.

  2. Book when your dates are set

There are no tickets at the door, so book as soon as you know your day.

  3. Buy from an official seller

Use the museum's own shop or a named reseller such as GetYourGuide. Other sites may sell fake tickets.

  4. Bringing kids

The museum does not recommend the audio guide for children up to 12. Under-18s enter free, so it is one of the better-value things to do in Amsterdam for families.
