Houston CityPASS attractions: pick 5 of 7

The CityPASS lets you pick 5 of these 7 attractions. Pick the five you will enjoy most, not the five that cost most.

  • Space Center Houston
  • Houston Zoo
  • Downtown Aquarium
  • Houston Museum of Natural Science
  • Kemah Boardwalk
  • Children's Museum Houston
  • Museum of Fine Arts, Houston

What the pass does not cover

It does not cover Space Center Houston's Mission Control tour, which costs extra. It does not cover the aquarium's rides either, which cost $5.25 to $7.25 each.

Parking is extra everywhere: $10 plus a fee at the Space Center, $15 at the aquarium and $30 at the natural science museum's garage.

The 11-museum pass skips special exhibitions.

Two stops in one day

The zoo is on Hermann Park Drive, and the natural science museum's garage is on the same road. So you can do two pass stops in one day around Hermann Park.

Does the Houston CityPASS really save money?

Yes, from the fourth stop. Three attractions with clear adult prices cost $80.94 to $90.94 together. That is about the price of the pass.

So the pass pays off once you add a fourth stop. With only three, buy single tickets.

The zoo sets its price by date, so check Houston Zoo prices for your day before you count it in.

Houston CityPASS or military discounts?

Check military discounts first. The aquarium takes $2 off for up to four passes. The zoo takes 50% off for up to five guests.

The Museum of Fine Arts says active military get in free with ID. We did not find a CityPASS military offer.

How a Houston CityPASS ticket works

You get mobile tickets in the CityPASS app. The app also makes reservations where an attraction needs one.

Each ticket is good for one entry. The 9 days start at your first visit.

If you skip a child ticket for an infant, some attractions still charge a child price.

Our Houston CityPASS review: who it suits

The CityPASS suits a first visit with kids. Space Center Houston, the zoo, the aquarium and the natural science museum make a strong set of four.

It does not suit a short trip. If you only have a day or two, buy single tickets.

The 11-museum pass suits museum fans who skip the Space Center. Many museums are free on Thursdays, so plan around that day.

Tips for the Houston CityPASS

Space Center Houston uses timed entry. Reserve your time in the CityPASS app once you have the pass.

  4. Budget for parking

No pass covers parking. It costs $10 to $30 per stop.
